Twilli Tips - Interesting

Recommended Posts

OK, so I am going on record saying I thought that the purpose of these were to minimize wear and tear on the last eye on a rod. I had 2 wire set-ups the past few years. One had the tips and the other didn't. I recently read this article and I guess I was ignorant to exactly what the purpose of the Twilli Tip is used for. After reading this I can attest to the issue that the Twilli Tip fixes. Just thought you would like to be schooled today like me!

When a fish is on a copper rod, there is never a 90 degree angle with the wire to the rod tip. The bend in the rod produces the wide arc needed to reduce the fatigue on the wire. I think the twilli tip site may be over-hyping the effects of their product on their site. I do think the tips help with SS wire when the rods are not deployed or when you are standing over a fish smiling and the dipsy is just dangling free at the end of the rod bouncing around.
