PREPPING THE BOAT

Recommended Posts

Refinished the teak on my boat and have almost all of it back on. New bottom paint, added a couple of tracks, moved the corner riggers back as my boys request (hard for them to reach) New shift cable, new thermostats, new water impellers, lubed and inspected gimbal bearings, etc, etc, gaskets, etc. painted the outdrives, etc. Been busy. A bit splashing her this year. Maybe next weekend. Heres a few crappy cell pics.

2thdoc, thanks! This boat was the actual boat your dad owned? If so, thats awesome. He took great care of it and I am sure he had a lot of pride for her. We really do enjoy the boat. I spoke with a previous owner who was a women. Very nice lady. Was that your mother? I never got the bimini top for it and I am sure there must have been one for it. Was the boat sold with it? I bought the boat from sterndrive specialists. Gray

Gray,

My dad bought the boat from Hutchinsons Boat works in 1000 islands, it was 2 years old the first owner used it as a "dingy" to get to his island. My dad was a charter captain out of Greene Point, Sandy Pond. I was about 12 at the time and my father and I rigged it all up and absolutely loved it, to be sure it is the same one had Raytheon radar with the display in front of captain and Raytheon depth finder in front of passenger if its still there. When he bought it they said only like 70 made with the hardtop and it was 1 of 2 in NYS at the time I think the actual model was a Sportfisherman. Im pretty sure it is the same one. He had the name Jolly Rogers painted on the back not sure if its still visible at all. He did have bimini top but sold the boat in 95 or so with all the other equipment. Not sure what the other owner did with the boat after. But seeing the pics stirred up alot of great emotions and memories, it was truley an awesome boat in all aspects. Hope to see you on the water sometime.

Dave

Sounds like the same one. Ratheon equipment was just like you said. I still have the radar in the same place. Name is no longer visible. Previous owner name of Berringer is still visible from where the vinyl was. boat runs like a top and handles great. You are right, you dont see a lot of these with the hardtop. This has twin v-8's which is another upgrade. I am suprised how fast the thing will go if you can afford it. It will be at Wrights Landing in Oswego Red dock #19 if you ever get a chance to stop by.
