i grew up on cross lake. great pike, bass and walley. good pan fishing also. ihave fished it for 30 years.

is there a decent place to launch? Any specific direction you can provide for some pike action?

you can launch for free at a bar called the port of call in jacks reef.the only problem is getting out to the lake. to get to the lake you will go uder the bridge. just follow it right to the lake. as you get up a little further you will see a creek comming in the river. stay to the left quite a bit as there is a rock it the middle. that creek usually is good for pike. once you get through that you are good to go. the river is great pike and large mouth. if i didn't have 2 doc appts i would meet you there.

there is another launch at the cross lake inn on the north end of the lake. i am not sure if they are opened yet. this launch will put right in the lake. actually the pike fishing is really good on the north end.

There's a smorgasbord of fish and it can be like a box of chocholate, you never know what you're gonna get.

As with all fishing a lot depends on where you go and what you use.

It's a very interesting fisherie and place.
