copper set up

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to put together a copper rod for Lake Ontario. For the fall salmon run i like to go there around Labor Day weekend. Can any one help? With what would be a good set?

#30 or #45 and 300' set or 600' or some were in between the two for that time of year. A rod and reel

Thanks Bill

#45 lb. The fish will in shallower at this time of the year so maybe a 300 (66 feet down) would be good. If you intend to run it down the chute, then get a 600 and mark it every 50 to 100 feet. Then, you only let out the length you want for the depth you are fishing.
