Lake Ontario Windmills--Please be heard!!!

Recommended Posts

Legislator David Godfrey from the town of Wilson, Niagara County, is the person to direct your emails opposing Windmills in Lake Ontario. There has been so much written as to the cons, with exceptional threads by LOUs Tom Bishop listing many of them.

Legislator Godfrey has stated that he is disappointed by how few emails he has recieved , that he can take to the committee that he sits on.

If you are from Niagara Co, let him know. If you are from other counties or states, and you fish, boat, and vacation here,

he still wants to hear from you. Let him know why you oppose them in your own words.

Send emails to: [email protected] Time is of the essence!

Thank you very much,

Vince

David,

As a graduate engineer with 40 years of experience dealing with power plant equipment these should not be placed in the waters of the great lakes. Environmental and maintenance considerations should require on shore locations. Let’s not jump into what may sound like a good idea to the financial bottom line of the power companies only to create a future monster that the taxpayers will have to fix. Thanks for service and consideration.

No matter where they put turbines in the Lake, if they do, it'll affect everyone all along the southern shore, so please send these guys some quick notes.

Some of our legislators want to know what we think about the idea of turbines in the water. If they don't get many responses, they're sure to think we don't care & their jobs are safe.

Just found out there has only been approx 100 emails sent since this was posted. Please realize, even if you never boat, fish, or visit the Niagara county area of Lake Ontario, if they become established here they will be added to and spread. Of course, the deadline to be heard and to get an email in opposing this atrocity has been moved up to wed, Sept 15.

Once again, email legislator David Godfrey [email protected] ASAP!!! Tell everyone! Thank you.

Vince, I sent one that was both from me personally and also on behalf of the 230 or so members of LOTSA, but yesterday I also forwarded Bob Cinelli's email request to our club mail list asking the members to all send their own e-mails, so hopefully that will generate some volume of responses to Dave Godfrey.

"I believe it will be the catalyst to drive economic development in our region and create the next generation of jobs for our children," Mason said in the news release.

The initial project will be a five-turbine, 20 megawatt (MW) pilot wind farm five to 10 miles offshore of Cleveland.

K Gonefishin, the next generation of jobs? 5 turbines? this sounds like a let's see if it really works and how much people gripe about them for a while. A rather innocuous little project, maybe no one will notice until we get 500 of them up :@ Sneaks....don't let them go any further!

This city is so screwed up. Almost all of our city leaders offices have bee raided by the FBI and have been charged with bribery and a slew of other charges. Everyone in this town is crooked it's sickening. One news story after another how things aren't getting done and every time we turn around people are getting busted, I can only image that politicians are wrapped up in some shady contract deal with this one as well.

I've been wanting to attend some meeting but they just do what they want behind closed doors.

Knowing Cleveland it won't get off the ground just like the Medical Mart, the Flats renovations, Casino's, moving the Port of Cleveland, Lakefront developement etc. It's all a big sick joke around here.

The county auditor last week...and finally the kingpin of the whole thing...the county commissioner

I told you this was going on daily. This is the kind of corruption Cleveland has been dealing with for who knows how long, this guys have been in office a long time. Heck even the mayor we had 2 terms ago stole 11 million dollars, then we had some lady who did nothing...geez. I'm 30 years old maybe in my lifetime something good will happen.

Is Buffalo this bad.?

Thanks to all who took the time to write an email. It has made a difference, and we are hopeful. I had a conversation with David Godfrey yesterday, and he would still welcome well crafted letters from groups and organizations. Whether nearby residents or visitors to Lake Ontario, he stated that this would still be useful in the fight.

As some of you know, we are up against an agenda of perception. Money flying around for "green projects" and people will fight to grab it, regardless of the long term consequences.
