Just found out last night that they have been stocking the Cohos for the last week. Correct me if I am wrong someone, but Rochester got 20,000 the Salmon River got 40,000 and I believe they stocked some at Sodus. I'm guessing this was one of those fish. Funny how they are still little bad azzes when they are little!

yes, they stock coho as fall fingerlings and let them winter over in the stream to smolt the following spring. Saves the hatchery 6 months of holding the coho and doesn't seem to have a significant negative impact on survival. They stock the coho every year about this time in October. Sometimes makes perch fishing tough in the harbor at Olcott as the coho's sit a little higher in the water than the perch and you sometimes can't get your bait down through the school of aggressive coho to get to the perch.
