Does anyone know if I will get a ticket if I pull my truck off the side of the parkway to access NYS hunting land in Greece NY? I see guys fishing do it all the time around long pond area. Thought I would ask before I tried it. Thanks.

GREAT QUESTION.

I drive parkway 7 days a week early & late. YES you will get ticket by State trooper in a full size Suburban that patrols/radars the parkway. People fishing get told to move vehicles because they are near by. I watched trooper write 3 vehicles (bow hunting Braddocks area) a weekend ago. Funny thing is Greece police/Monroe Co. Sherrif/Park police & D.E.C. ALL patroll same stretch with different degrees of tolerence?????

Seems like the police would rather not keep writing accident reports (car/deer MVA) ...and let the hunters try to thin down the deer population a little without worry of a ticket. Isn't that what the DEC is giving out all those extra permits for in these areas near the lake?

Thanks for the input. I heard the same from some hunters I just talked to at the firehouse. Sucks that there is state land all along the parkway and only a few parking areas. Thanks again and good luck to everyone!
