Great day on Quinte....9 year old PB 14lb 6 oz walleye

Recommended Posts

Me and the boy did the tourist thing this weekend. 3 days in canada, with 1 full day fishing. We hit the Royal Air Force Museum in Trenton, ON and CN Tower in Toronto. Loose Moose for lunch, and that wisconsin poundin given to michigan.

Didnt lift a rod. It was all boy. His total weight for 8 fish was 77.4 lbs. A 14-6, 12-10-, 12-4, 11-9, 10-0, 5, 5, and 5. We kept the 3 five pounders for dinner, and released the rest. No gill damage, no bleeders, all fat clean, powerful fish. All went down very fast (Fun watching em on the HDS8 locator- like 10 seconds and right to bottom - I swear steeper than a downrigger ball..).

Gettin some more pictures shortly. This is the 10-0, I think. Too many fish.

I been chasing these things for year, and the little sheet knocks this one down within the first hour or so of fishing.

He loves to tell all who would listen how many fish I caught. "None" as he says.

He must have had a good teacher. Congrats Dad, you did a good job. There is nothing like having your kids addicted to fishing. They grow to fast. Enjoy the special times together.

Awesome job fellas - great feeling isn't it? My 10-yr old son and I had a day similar to that last summer on Erie. 11 fish to the boat between 5 and 9 pounds. One of my best days of fishing ever, and I didn't reel a single one in. Gotta love Quinte late in the year though huh? Wow!

33 and a third inches long is the longest walleye I know of, none that long in Lake Erie.
