Recommendations for simcoe?

times two

Recommended Posts

My son is an avid perch fisherman. Considering Lake Simcoe for a little bit

of bonding with him. Never done that....any recommendations? Would I

need my own equipment?

John, it's been at least 7 years since we went up. Used to fish Cook's Bay out of Keswick. Back then the exchange was real good, now just about par. Plus we don't have passports or enhanced. We always took our own equipment. Family members did however rent huts at times. On a good trip we would bring back near a full cooler but we've had a few poor trips also. We focus on Chautauqua and I-bay nowadays with a trip or two to Silver and Conesus. Check out this link:

Randy's ice huts out of Port Bolster can steer you to good perch fishing, the white fish may be out too deep yet. Still, Chautauqua is a better deal to save you time, gasoline and money. Prendergast Point is good access and parking there.
