Honeoye

I'm planning on going to Honeoye next weekend. I haven't seen any posts about it. Has anyone been there? If so, how did you do?

Honeoye has been good in the evening. The last hour before dark at the trident has produced good numbers of gills and some walleye. The fish are there you have to work for them.

Deep water is the game on Honeoye this season. Fish are hitting the smallest jigs you can find and you have to really intice them. Gills and perch are the game so far. I have not heard any good reports for walleye yet this season.

Thanks guys! Are you using minnows or spike\mousies\etc?

Bass minnows for tip ups and a single spike on the smallest jig you can find for the gills and perch. They have been tough.

Same here, A marmasooka with a #16 hook with a waxworm pushed over the jig. Take a tooth pick and turn the waxworm inside out before you place it on the hook. The camera does not lie, IT WORKS!!!

Interesting technique...I'd noticed that after a few fish, the waxie started to produce better, but I hadn't made the leap to fabricating a "pre-gnawed" look. I'll give it a shot.
