Steering Question

We are considering putting hydraulic steering in our Penn Yan 245. We will be adding an autopilot this winter and the major decision is whether we want to switch to hyd. or keep the cable steering. Just looking for some advice and opinions. Thanks

When I put autopilot on my 25' baha cruiser( inboard ) I switched to hyd steering from cable, best decision I made for a boat upgrade and well worth the money, at least for me.

I converted my Baha from cable steer to Hydraulic steering two years ago and its the best thing I ever did. I also add a Simrad AP 24. Clint did a real nice job.

Resse and cody hi guys is your steering like chris fishers as a cable with power assistanced if it is he has all part numbers on that not very hard to install .

Hey Pork, ya its power assisted cable steering. The boat is at the Watercraft Clinic having some work done so we are just having Clint do the steering and the autopilot. Thanks for the input though
