Fishing Techniques Classes - Thank You!!

Recommended Posts

Hello Everybody,

New to Lake Ontario fishing or having trouble putting fish in the boat? Want to have a better chance at putting a fish on the Spring LOC board? The Finders Keepers Pro Sportfishing Team is going to be hosting a series of fishing classes this year to show new anglers the techniques of how to put fish in the boat and invites seasoned veterans to share new tricks. The first two classes will be held at the Sodus Point Lodge on April 22nd: Spring Fishing Techniques from 8am-12pm and Summer Salmon Fishing Techniques from 1pm-5pm. This will be an informative, hands-on training and demonstration of the techniques that have made our team so successful over the past few years. In addition to the basics, we will be covering knot-tying (including the tournament tie for re-tying flies), various ways of running sliders/cheaters, lure making (creating your own color variations), running wire, copper, and leadcore rods, using our vessils to demo our different techniques, discuss different fishing conditions/scenarios, and much more! The classes have been sponsored by Atommik, Warrens Tackle, Davenport's Tackle, and the Sodus Point Lodge (possibly more sponsors to come) with free tackle grab bags to be given out to all participants  as well as a raffle for other gear/tackle. The more participants, the more gear we will have to give away, but each class is limited to the first 20 anglers who register.

More information about the Finders Keepers Team, the class series, and class registration can be found at our website: http://www.FKSportfishing.com

And informational fliers can be picked up at the following tackle shops:

Warren's Tackle

Davenport's Tackle

Oswego Salmon Shop

Fat Nancy's

Or you can also drop me a PM for answers to questions or for more info.

The cost of each class is only $30, or take both classes for $50. With gas prices soaring, spend your money on the water catching fish rather than washing lures!! We'll see ya on the 22nd! 8)

Today we received a generous sponsorship donation from Screwy Louie's Sportshop, and each participant will be receiving one new echip or spin doc in one of our top producing color patterns from last year! 8) We currently have several participants signed up and have room for several more! Registration is open through tomorrow evening!

Thanks Maisie!! It was great having you and Rodney at the classes! You'll have to keep me updated on how you're making out on the water this season! 8)

Just to clarify, as we have had some concern over the nature of these courses, these are courses that take place on dry land using our vessils (on trailers) to demonstrate techniques/methods. We are not chartering in any form or capacity. These classes are specifically designed to help anglers become more successful on the water.

We will be running another set of classes later this spring on a Saturday, date TBD - stay tuned!! 8)

Due to an overwhelming response for us to run the class set on a weekend, we have now scheduled the 2-class salmon/trout series for May 21st, from 8am - 5pm at the Sodus Point Lodge . The morning class will once again be the Spring Fishing Techniques and the afternoon class will be the Summer Kings class. Participants will each receive a grab bag of goodies provided by our class sponsors: Atommik, Warren's Tackle, Screwy Louie's Sportshop, LOU, and the Sodus Point Lodge. Registrations are now open, and will run through May 19th. Cost is still $30/class or $50 for both classes. Register early, as we are limiting the number of registrants to 12 per class!

Information and registration for the classes can be found on our team website: www.FKSportfishing.com

We hope to see you there! 8)

Jeff and Tim,

You guys were great. Very professional and a very well organized lesson plan. I am especially grateful for the tips on running the meat programs. I can't wait to get out there again. I definately recommend these classes for anyone starting out or someone that has a few years under their belt. I learned a lot of new information on the fishing and boat set up tips.

Thanks again.

Jim
