Rigger Rods

Headed up from Ohio in a week and was wondering what kind of rods you are running for kings. Just regular rigger rods or are you running dipsey rods for the extra power? just debating whether or not to buy new rigger rods or just toss some of my extra dipsey rods on them

The reel is more important than the rod. As long as you have a smooth drag & lots of line you'll be fine. I've used 6 ft'rs to 8 ft'rs - Cherrywoods, Graphites, glass & composites but the biggest difference was when I invested in some good reels.

Regular rigger rods. I run 8'0 Heartlands they are a blast on kings. You won't get the proper load on a diver rod.

Okuma Classic Pro's 8.6ft downrigger rods are what i run on the riggers and love them..
