"IF".............the storm affects our area....."If"

two weekends ago the forecast called for a complete wash out of that sunday.we were going to head back home that saturday night, but decided to hang out with friends and see what happened in the morn.glad we did caused we rocked some kings world on that sunday.

fast forward to the next folowing saturday.mr.doppler calls for another unfishable sunday...

.....wrong !!! a very light drizzle was not enough to keep the spin. dr away,result?....screamers o'plenty!! and some sunshine actually showed up also.

sometimes it pays to be patient and see what happens. ;) BUT....look at the water before you head out!

Right on. We fished a day last year right after an "upwelling" of temps in Mexico bay. I think the surface temps dropped to low 60s from the low 70s and it was in the 50s maybe 40 or so feet down. We did really well tolling the bouy line in front of the plant. A 200 copper with a mag green dolphin fished down the chute took 5 of our 6 fish that morning. There was a decent chop on the lake but nothing bad. Bottom line is you won't catch fish sitting at camp waiting for good reports to come in.

The forcast is changing every few hours, and right now it is getting better. Yesterday called for 6 to 8 foot and ne winds to 30 knots. Just checked at 6 am this morn Friday, and now it is 3 to 6 and 25 knot out of the ne for Sunday. It's likely the wind direction would not change due to the counter clockwise rotation of The storm and its relative forcast track thru the southeast corner of the state but the wind should switch back west as it departs up the coast.

BTW,some of the best fishing occurs during these overcast days with slight chop.

the fish are often less spooked by the light and the chop can make for some great lure action, especially when a nearby boats waves bounce you a bit more.
