GHP 10 garmin autopilot

Does anyone have a garmin ghp 10 autopilot. Likes and dislikes?????

Ran one on my boat this year, & it was flawless in 300 hours operation running 225 & 8 HP Honda's. You need hydraulic steering. Calumet Marine installed mine.

I did the install on mine last March, 200 hp Yamaha and 9.9 kicker hydraulic steering. No problems at all with install and the unit works great. I troll all day and never have to touch the wheel. I had a couple questions with the install so I called Garmin and had the answers in seconds. It is one of my most used tools on my boat.

Just an FYI, I have no hydro steering in my boat, linear cable with hydro assist on a Merc I/O. I purchased a new 9.9 Yamaha high thrust motor, and a Garmin TR-1 system. I was beginning to foul up my Merc trolling and wanted a kicker to troll with. Purchased and self installed for less cost than it would have been for me to upgrade my steering system to hydro. I have been running charters with the new setup all year on the Finger Lakes and the new system runs flawlessly. Its a truly state of the art system, and like Sean said, if you need any assistance, Garmin has superb customer service. Maybe an option depending on what it is your looking for.

If you get the Garmin, be sure to get the hand held wireless controller, as you can then control boat direction from anywhere on the boat.

Do the hydrolics hook right to the ram on the motor or do they hook to the steering wheel hydrolics?

My hydraulic steering is hooked up on the 225 Honda, the hydraulic pump is under the steering wheel behind the bulkhead.

you will need some hydraulic hoses and fittings once you mount pump and figure out lengths. I got info from a company out west will have hydraulic lines to you in two days.
