Welcome to the board. Your home "de"...is that for Germany?

Not sure of your question. Are you asking why use copper rather than mono? If so, copper will give you much greater depth than mono on a flatline & has much much less stretch.

Ironangler222, I used to launch out of the Bohemia River and fish around Turkey Point many, many years ago before moving my interests to Lake Ontario. How is the striper fishing in the fall? Still incredible, I hope.

I second what LongLine said. When flatlining, copper sinks faster and further than mono does. We did a nice job this season on the copper. If you're going to be on Lake Ontario, I strongly suggest giving the copper a try, even if you do just one reel of it. The results are sure to amaze you!
