Tournament Observer training class

Recommended Posts

Long overdue, there will be a Tournament Observer training class at 3pm Sunday Feb 26th at the LOTSA Expo in Lockport NY.

Capt Paul Czarnecki, a long time tourny angler has dedicated his time to this cause before, and has accepted the lead position. We hope to have a few more concerned competitors as well.

It has been been brought up recently on this board, and at many events in the past, that something like this should be offered. Here it is! If you observe, would like to observe to learn, or if your main interest is in upholding the integrity of the great Lake O tournys, please plan on making this session.

Team Captains and leaders, make an effort to get your potential observers to this class. It benefits all.

Thank you LOTSA, and thank you Paul for accepting this role.

Are there plans for further training classes before each event. I think it would be more benificial if ya waited until everyone who is entered has an observer. Just a thought.

Great idea.

There are lots of people who want to observe for a season in order to pick up valuable fishing experience.

At the same time we are creating a reservoir of knowledgeable and motivated observers who can be brought into contact with teams in need of an observer right here at Lotsa.

Might I suggest a mandatory meeting after the captians meeting of all observers for convience, and emergency fillins when someone cant show (observer) .

Also at that time each observer could sign a sworn "legal" statment they will perform their duties as instructed.

.just me 2 cents

If there is a good enough response to this we will consider holding a class before (or after) each tournament's Captain's meeting. This will give any new observers a chance to get up to speed as well as address any issues at the particular event.

See ya Sunday.

If the training class was recorded and placed on a YOU TUBE link it might help future people understand what they are expected to do and help with.

Both great ideas this way you get all the observers that are in the tournament. And any future observers can watch the video and know what they are getting into.
