Planer Mast Emergency!

Where can I find a plastic "wingnut/knob" that tightens down on the spool of a Big Jon planer mast? Guest on the boat this afternoon over loosened it and fed it to the gobies. Of course Home Depot didn't have anything that would work tonight. Zip ties around the mast and through the spool will have to hold it tomorrow.

You would have to order one. I do not know of any tackle places in Rochester that carries Big Jon parts.

Just guessing, take the wing nut from the other reel into Debbie Supply in ER or try Herb's Fastener and Supply on Lombard in the city.

Thanks guys! HD had a bolt with the same threads but nothing to put on it. We'll get by this weekend

i JUST WENT AND VERIFIED my Big Jon wing nut.It is 1/2" NF. IF YOU are fishing more than one day this weekend a reg. hardware store ought to have a nut you could buy and use with a wrench or pliers for temp.
