I just picked up 2 leadcore set ups. Lc47's. I managed to get 9 colors of 18lb suffix leadcore on it. 1 problem.......no where can i find any graphs about how deep the line will go. If i have out 1 color, does anyone have any idea how much it will sink per color? ? I will be mainly running spoons. Plus how long do you guys make your leaders??!?! Thanks for all the advise thus far guys. I will post pics when i get back as long as we catch something.

near as i can tell its around 5 ft per color...i run 50' leaders

i run the 27# so might be a little variation in depth

27 lb lead core will hit 4-5 feet per color at 2.5 mph

leaders about 20 feet or so

how much backing did you get on those 47's with 9 colors of core?

Only about 40 yards. No good? ????? We r only targeting browns

18lb and 27lb leadcore have the same sink rate, 5' per 10yds or 1 color.you should have at least 100 yds of backing.good luck and tight lines.

Okay, I just changed it up to 5 colors and 200 Yards of Power Pro Backing and 50 feet of seaguar folo leader. Hope this is better.

That's much better.

Even fishing for browns you could hook into a good king, and 40 yards is about 3 kicks with a tail. Then so long Lead Core!

I learned the hard way a bunch of years ago with another member on here.

The lake had flipped over in August during the LOC, and we rigged up an 8 color core... that's was it, an 8 color core.

So, against better judgement, we put it out, and didn't the freak'n thing fire, with only 3 colors left on the reel. After cranking on the drag, almost breaking the rod, and an emergency turn to starboard, the fish made it to the net, a 15lb King.

That rod promptly got put away. Had that fish been bigger, there was no way we could've landed it.

Would've been fun to have on Video though. Perhaps Dale might chime in on this story.

I trust your judgement Jolly, thats why I respooled. lol. After I dropped about $1400 on equipment in the last week I hope we atleast get 1 or 2 knockdowns.
