Dunkirk 9/3

Recommended Posts

Finally got a chance to get back out on Erie after our Oak trip...wouldn't you know it would have to blow!

Set up in 70 fow, trolled the troughs to 90 fow, and turned back.

Rolling pretty good, and the crew decided that enough was enough after

we had a pretty good wave come aboard to visit!

Did 3 'eyes, some sheep/silver bass, and probably missed 3-4 shots

in a little under 2 hrs. Tough to hold speeds due to the wind.

Got 1 on the small Fishlander orange frog 55 down on the rigger; one a hatchet blade 10 color (watermelon)and 1 on a DW holograw chicken wing

175 on the wire. The Fishlander released several other times....

Shame it was rough as the graph was one of the best pics we've had in

some time.....

John

I realize this is a Lake Ontario forum, but considering the number of members here that fish all over the region, I'm hoping someone can give me some into. (Admins, if this topic would be better in a different subforum, please feel free to move it).   Anyway, we'll be fishing out of Dunkirk this Saturday on Erie's eastern basin for Spring Lakers and I was wondering if any of you have fished out of this port before. Mainly trying to figure out some good general zones to target Char but

Normally fish the cattaragus creek no need to keep driving further down the thruway.I had a plan today to go out to 100 ft drag gambler rig cowbells on the riggers for laker and dipsys down deep for steelhead and leadcores for walleye and whatever happens happens.I New I’d find cold water for lakers at Dunkirk .Action started right of the bat no waiting time for fish to bite. Ended up the morning by 11:30 with a 3 man limit of walleye and 13 lakers a good day on the water     Sent from my

Just plain easy limits in Dunkirk right now. We took my brother and niece out this morning and had a 4 person limit in three and a half hours. Threw back a few big ones as well. All sticks on riggers and three to eight color cores. Eight rod spread is all I wanted at times. Fished 65 fow west in front of the two water towers. She had a ball.       Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Found a good screen a bit west of port and shallower than last week. Predominantly a dipsy bite first and then we got the last few for the box on 8 and 10 colors. Same colors that have been good: purple, rainbow, hot blue steel, Colorado blades on the harnesses and purple and purple/mirage stix. Fish were down 40' 0ver 60 to 75 fow.
