One more about Leadcore

Wasted a 7 color around wire dipsy Sunday. Didn't realize the dipsy had tripped and when checking it reeled in the leadcore with walleye board... Worst mess Ive ever seen. After cutting I have 2 sections of 2 color that are still good. Can I tie some kind of knot and use this as a 4 color or is it shot?

You can take a 6 inch piece of 20# mono and put two Willis knots to the separate sections of core. Now you just made a "segmented leadcore" which is a whole other topic....
