I want to jig up one of these Lake Ontario guys:

The king got grilled last night for dinner. Came out perfect marinaded in spiedie sauce for an hour, grilled over hot coals for seven minutes and switched to indirect heat (covered) for 15.

Figured this was worth posting for anyone getting started jigging... Starting out I was almost always dropping the jig all the way to the bottom and then cranking up. I have since started to drop almost to bottom (say 20 feet above) and then crank up. It seems to be more productive and fish size seems to have improved. My thinking is that the trout laying on the bottom see the jig falling and then trying to flee them vs. un-naturally approaching them.
