Otisco Lake musky in summer

Recommended Posts

I'm going to do some trolling for tiger musky tomorrow at otisco lake. I figure with the hot summer they'll be deep, probably in the thermocline. I was going to target deeper water north of the causeway, near the north weedbeds and near the west side points. I've caught several from shore in the spring and fall but never tried in the summer. Any insight would be appreciated. I'll be running my okuma salmon setups off big boards and maybe a dipsey.

I've had my best luck on Otisco in August going full blown Wisconsin style. That is casting bucktails in the weeds toward the north end. I don't think the Tigers care about the thermocline. Try some Mepps or Vibrax bucktails.
