Braided Line - Spiny Fleas

I used some Power Pro braid last year, Spiny's really like to ride on it. Has anyone used the 8 strand braids (Power Pro Slick or comparables? Are they any more flea proof?

Nope~we only use braid for backing on our copper reels. Run the dipseys on SS wire. Problem solved!

braid anything is going to load up with fleas. The extra money spent on wire is more than worth it.

what # braid? i run 40# on dipsys and barely had any. my 30# wasn't too bad but had noticeably more fleas.

There is only one braid I have had no issues with and that is Fireline Fused Original..smoke color. Wire is best to reduce fleas but this braid does just as well without the kink fears. 30 lb or 40 will work. It has slick qualities and keeps the little flea bastards off.

I have 2 wire rigs and have had good luck with dipsy's so I want to try running a couple off my outriggers so I thought braid would be a little safer (kinks) than wire with my releases. I bought one spool of the slick 8 in 50 lb test, just looking for advice from this expierenced crowd.

Yup, outriggers work good with them . Be careful of Sharp turns, inside outrigger just about stalls the pull. Dipsy can spin down cause a wrap up. That is why I use two braids for dipsy on out riggers it works.
