Hello Fairhaven fishermen, we have been fishing Fairhaven for about 5 years now and usually come about the 2nd week of April. Due to the WINTER weather we and scheduling we are forced to push back the trip to the first week of May. We like to target browns n kings close to shore. It seems like May is late for tight shore trolling anyone have any insight? I know everything is unpredictable but has anyone had success around these dates in the past? We have a 18ft Crestliner and can handle a little snotty water but don't have to much experience trolling deep water. Any info will be greatly appreciated ! Thanks!

Anyone fishing out of Fair Haven today?  I heard that the ice may possibly cause a problem in the bay with the south wind pushing it up into the north end of the bay and the chute?

I talked to guy who lives on the bay and he said all ice from south broke up and is jammed in the north end blocking the chute. I will be heading up tomorrow and let you know what I find

I was there this morning.  The bay is free on the west side its entire length.  But the flow ice is all jammed up in the north east corner making the state boat launch unusable.  The chute was open- as long as the winds don't shift again.  Looks like another three or four days of good weather, and it will all be gone.

Heres the deal. Yesterday there was ice at the east side of the bay. The state park still had ice around it so you cant put your boat in there. The only access was at  the two village launches. Once you got out to the bay the coast was clear. The lake is fine. Great mud line im sure the browns are there.

I would like to suggest that you can fish today but be careful. you should all be good to go by the end of today lol.

Well no fishin today but hopefully she dies down enough for us to get out...we shall see. Today they stocked our area with the salmon and steelies from the fish hatchery. They will keep the cages here for about 3 weeks and let em go...
