Coated cable question

Im just wondering if I have to use coated cable for the cannon speed n temp unit or can I go without it

I tried uncoated cable with my cannon S-N-T and it was horrible.

None of the fish-hawks need coated as they use a transducer to communicate and not cable. I actually miss my old 800 because of that.

I would say the fishhawks and smart troll units are the only ones that don't need coated cable

there is no problem with coated cable, I've had a Depth Raider for 10 years of so and get about 4-5 years out of a cable. 

 

The cannon speed and temp unit on the other hand, has a pretty sketchy reputation
