Cannon Mag 10 question

Yesterday I used my mag 10's which I haven't used in quite awhile. On the starboard rigger when the clutch knob was loosened the spool will turn easily to descend but when I manually rotated it to wind up the cable there was some resistance. The port rigger would turn easily either way when the clutch knob was loosened. Anyone have any experience with this?

Eric you could have a crack in the reel that holds the wire when I up graded my older mag 10's both of my spools were cracked you might want to look at that.
