Tourney rigs

Recommended Posts

looking to may new tourney rigs for my flies, but don't like the bend in the line/hook with double snell.  Any suggestions on what knot to use for the bottom treble to keep is straigt behind the single?

I've never noticed that it made any difference as far as hookups are concerned.

If it bothers you that much, take your pliers and bend the eye of the treble out slightly so the line comes through straight.

I've seen the suggestion to bend the hook eye previously and I've tied some that way with the snell.  They look pretty good but I don't know if it helps.  Some hooks I've tried tend to break rather than bend due to their hardness.

I don't think it's necessary myself. I just tie them as they come out of the package. Like I said, I've never noticed a problem with keeping fish hooked with the treble offset a little, just offering a possible solution since the OP asked the question.
