It is a larger doghouse, but it can be worked around rather easily... I routinely fish with 3-4 guys on this boat and like anything, you figure out how to best utilize the space you have.  You can fight fish right in the corners or even better is right on top of the wide doghouse!  I cannot even dream of counting how many fish have come aboard this boat...

Very nice boat and looks to be in very good shape. Man that is a big motor box! Any problems working around it?

Makes a great place to filet fish!

But you do not want this boat!  Hans needs to keep it so he can take me fishing! :shake:

I have the single big block '93 version of this boat and can verify that it fishes 4 with no one bumping into one another. With the beam as wide as it is, what looks like a narrow spot on either side of the box is actually 2 feet a side. You can fit a deck chair in there no issue and I do when the admiral wants to take a cruise.

I had a nice Stamas a while back that had a similar large low engine box for twin I/Os. Placed a huge cooler up on it flush to the front of the box and cooler hinges rearward. With a pad, it made a great seat to fight fish from. Just enough room for your feet between the back of the cooler and the inside of the transom. My elderly father loved it, it extended our fishing together by many years. Once the fish was in the net, we lift and drop the fish right into the cooler for hook removal. We never had to worry about him sliding and falling on slimy decks. A quick spray with the wash-down hose would lean the area rearward of the cooler. I'd sometimes lean on or use the edge of it to catch my balance working lines in rough water.

I suspect many people would look at an engine box as big as that and think that's just too much wasted space, but the cooler seat on the box really works well as an elevated fighting chair and turns the lost space into usable space. This should be a consideration for anyone looking at a boat with a similar dual I/O box layout.

Nice looking boat at a fair price.

This maybe a silly question, but what is average cost for slip, storage, maint. on a vessel of this size?

Prices can vary widely on slips. Old marinas with few upgrades over the years with lots of open slips may have really cheap slips available while high profile marinas with extensive facilities could be $3-4k for a boat this size. Sterndrive boats are more complex than inboards and require additional maintenance that is not too difficult to perform. When considering the purchase of a used boat, always have the hull professionally surveyed and have the engines and drives inspected by a mechanic certified on that drive system. They will give you the best assessment of the current condition and future maintenance needs of a particular boat.

To answer your question with an estimate figure 3.5-5k per year plus fuel.
