Now that deer season is closed and its too warm for ice fishing im looking to get the boat out.  Does anyone know if it would be worth troliing the shallows for browns or are most in the tribs now?  I want to stay close to shore in case of boat trouble or anything

Ok thanks. Should I run the same program that I would in the spring?

I would go a bit different. In spring ,the shallow water along the shore is usually a bit warmer, but that is not neccessarily true for this time of year.

You will find 38 degree water a little bit deeper, but you must be close to a creek where there is often some warmer water as well.

In my experience it is best in about 40 feet of water cutting through a scum line. While trolling for browns you will probably end up catching smallmouth and lakers as well.
