Bullheads through the ice

Just wondering if anyone targets bullhead through the ice. I was fishing crappies after dark with a lantern tonight and caught one and lost two at the hole. I've caught as many as 7 in an afternoon while fishing crappies with jigs tipped with spikes and it's not unusual to catch them this time of year. Thought I might try using tipups with worms, shrimp or several spikes some evening soon. They are great eating from the cold water.

They are getting ready to spawn now. No completely uncommon

We used to catch them and see them swim under us on Perch Lake, DEC said it was full of crappies as well but I could never get into them.

Plecos4sale, how was Conesus today? Saw a lot of folks on the north end today. Has the action picked up? Any crappie?

Did see a few crappie on the camera.. but caught none

I was at the north end and did not have a flag.

Saw a few bass and 1 pike is all. lots of small pan fish

We caught 8 fishing the north end of Cayuga Friday along with perch & pickeral.
