Trolling bags for new boat

Recommended Posts

Just bought a new for me boat. It has dual 115 hp mercury four strokes. The boat is a fiberglass 255 seaboss walk around. Will be trolling with one motor. Walleye fish majority of the year our of dunkirk need to be at 1.8 mph going with the waves in 3 to 4s. Thinking(2) 22 or 28 inch amish outfitter bags. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

according to the website, a 25 foot boat trolling for walleye should have 48" bags. Keep in mind their bag sizes are not the diameter of the bag, it is measured flat. by my calculations a 48" bag should just over 30" in diameter.

I run a 26' striper with a 320 hp I/O, single prop. I troll with two bags out (one 28" bag on each side) of my boat with no problems getting down to even a 1.3 -1.5 mph, this is speed on gps and fish hawk. We mainly fish erie eyes near walnut creek running reef runners at 1.8 to 2.0.

Good luck  Rick
