Is this an educated rod?

I found this in the.basement of a house I bought 20 years ago and always curious about what it is called? It has lead core on it. I actually used it way back k in the day!

I have the same rig mine has monel wire on it . We used them for lake trout when I was a kid that was about a hundred years ago. There is no name on them but I think they were made by Heddon or Shakespeare . The lever with the leather drag is neat.
