Off shore DR releases med or heavy?

What is the best release to use off the ball for Salmon/trout in the Off Shore line (pinch pads)? Heavy or medium? Thanks

 

BTW The Blood run sea flea line is so slippery, I couldnt keep it in the release today but there were no fleas on it, none.

I would recommend the Scotty Powergrips instead. Much better release in the pinch pad style releases. I load the crap out of my rigger rods and never have a release unless a fish bites.

Of the offshores, definitely the heavy.

As far as the Sea Flee line I run Black releases and do about 6- 8 line twists before putting the arm in the loop. If I were running the off shores I'd probably use rubber bands on the line to hold better

Been using Offshores for years. Have  to change out the pads once a year or more if you go a lot. Also put a piece of  cardboard between to store them to keep them good. The heavy ones.
