Splicing copper to itself?

Recommended Posts

80 lb hollow ace hollow core from Power Pro. You need a needle for threading copper into the hollow core and some 30 lb braid for serving the ends. No knots. Will not slip and is a smooth transition. Holds the copper like a finger trap.

Wrap the ends of the copper around each other twisting and then wrap them with nylon thread around the twisted part (looks like the snell of a hook) and then use super glue on the thread

My copper line is fraying (a few broken strands) a few hundred feet into the reel. Is it ok to cut this bad section out and splice back together?

Haywire twist knot for this?
