10.9 pounder on the river

After getting skunked fishing salmon on the lake yesterday we were up early hitting the river. We got 4 keepers with a extremely fat 29 in her that weighed 10.9 . Fish are stuffed with tiny 1 -2,5" bait. I'll post a photo latter.

Way to go Kevin. Hoping to give it a try tonight. After this weekend the river will start to die off with boat traffic my favorite time of year to fish. I will keep you posted.

I agree I saw more people fishing today than any morning. The bait in their stomachs are very small.

I went tonight didn't get to stay very long it came over my handheld radio bad storm rolling in from Kingston. It called for thunder and lighting and high winds ended up jigging one eye before I left on a spoon in 35 fow. I let it go back around a 20". Hopefully get to hit it again tomorrow night. I was home by 8:30 pm.

Nice fish Kevin! We spent some time trolling around the mouth of the river last weekend. Only managed 1 walleye and a few bass. Wish I had more time to explore up there! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

Next time you get up this way give a shout and perhaps we can get out together. I've had my most consistent summer ever but am mostly fishing at night.
