Ive always had the idea of forming a club for us trollers.My sons run a bass club which is very popular so why not a club for us trollers.

I sure have the time to start one preferably one covering wayne county.Winter would be a good time to set one up.

We had a great club at Sodus Point in the late 70's and 80's;, the Sodus Point Deep Trollers. Quite a few member have Charters Captains for years now. While the goal was to support the upcoming fishery, we had a lot of fun and learned a lot. We worked a lot with the Rochester Trout and Salmon Anglers and had yearly fish off and picnic. Also had an annual winter dinner and auction.

 

It was so popular we had a one time to limit member ship, but when the fishery got going and many got into chartering it faded away.

 

We used to meet a the Sodus Bay Sportsman Club on Geneva Road. Having a place to meet and functions was a big factor.

The Genesee charter boat association accepts non captains as well as captains. We meet at the irondequoit fish and game club the first tuesday of the month. We are the largest association on the lake, and growing. We have a website to get info from.

I second what Hooked up Bruce said....great guys....informative meetings, and a few laughs....The more organized we (lake Ontario sport fishermen ) are, the louder our voice can be concerning stocking and bait levels.
