Trail Camera Question (Memory card issues)

We currently have 3 different camera out on our land, and we use the SanDisk 2GB memory cards in all of them.  When we go to check the cameras a lot of times we like to bring a digital camera with us and just pop the card in and see what was on it.  That way if we don't have much there we can relocate the camera right away.  With a few of the cards that works just fine.  With the majority of them though, when we put the card in the digital camera, it says the card is empty (but when we take them home and check them on our desktop there are pictures on them).

I'm assuming it has something to do with the formatting of the cards or something, but we apparently we aren't smart enough to figure out why this is happening, or how to fix it.  Anybody know what we need to do in order to view the pictures on a digital camera?

Thanks!

Sean

Yes Sean it probably is the difference in formatting. It also happens sometimes when and SD card is formatted on PC's and then tried in a digital camera (especially if formatted on a MAC) and the camera doesn't understand it and kicks out an error message or else says the card is empty because it can't read that format. Always try to format a card on the device that it is intended to be used on.
