Great Lakes Ice Coverage - 2015

Lake Erie and Ontario have more Ice than at this time last year with a lot more on the way. I guess we'll have to hope for a warm and sunny spring.

talked to a buddy yesterday who was at mexico point and said the bay is full of ice as far as the eye can see.we stopped at wrights landing and mexico point after the lotsa show 2 weeks ago and there wasnt a piece of ice on the lake.it kinda got my juices flowing!!!!

It is open at nine mile, about 300 yards of slush along the shore. All it takes is a shift of the wind and she will be wide open in the bay.

 I know this is going to irritate some guys but I welcome the cold..... Last year is was cold and we had an awesome spring ....  Hopefully the same thing happens again this year.

Ice jams on Sandy could pose a real problem if we get a rapid thaw and some big rain. My guess is that East Fork is frozen to the bottom.

We need a good clean out after last spring Bill.  It might not be a bad thing.

I agree but in the twenty years I lived there I've seen Dadys barn and Tommys with chunks of ice the size of Hyundais pressed against them and with the right conditions this year it could be a lot worse. Legacy spent a lot of time with dock work last spring and the weather gave us a big pass last year even though for a while it looked pretty bad. If it stays cold and we get more snow, and it gets warm and wet quick, it could be epic.
