Ibay near the bayside restaurant

I always see a few people out near the bayside. It's on the most north east part of the bay. Has anyone ever tried fishing here? I know my usual places are dead and I'm looking for a short walk

It can be good but most of the time it is dead.  My buddy fished it a couple weeks back and it was DEAD!

People have been fishing there for years, dude. The wayside has also been hosting an annual ice fishing tournament for years.

Any other suggestions for places that don't involve a ton of walking? What about by the Newport house?

It used to be the hot spot, hundreds would flock there, and catch tons of fish.

99% of the guys that fish the Bayside Tourney dont even fish Irondequoit Bay let alone the cove behind the bar.  The Tourney is open to any waters to fish.

I tried by the bayside... Caught a few Z's and that was it

I used to live near there - always enjoyed watching for the annual sunken vehicle sticking out of the ice...

Personally...ice fishing on IBAY is a waste of time. spend the time and money to drive to sodus or a fingerlakes.

Fishingskrip, I usually just go for a few hours when I get out of school. A trip to Sodus would take too long. And I wouldn't say a waste of time
