Made the two hour drive from Syracuse looking for open water with my buddies Joe and Shaun.  Launched at the Point Breeze launch and although there were no docks having young athletic fishing partners made the launching process go very smoothly.  I was surprised at the lack of floating debris in the lake and the water temperatures ranged from 36 to 41 degrees.  We started shallow for the first few hours and could not seem to find the browns.  I kicked out to 40 feet of water and the screen lit up.  We hooked into half a dozen lakers and lost a pig which broke my 12 pound test leader right at the back of the boat.  The fish were hitting brightly colored deep diving rapalas and while they were not our target species they were a lot of fun.  We did have a lot of knockoffs on the riggers but only hooked one fish on an orange laker taker spoon.  post-143334-0-07212700-1428153365_thumb.jpgpost-143334-0-94511800-1428153394_thumb.jpg
