Our fish will be arriving at noon for delivery to the pens (@ the Sandy Creek Marina). Feel free to stop in and lend a hand. We will be moving the pens at 5pm Friday night to the pen site location, We could use 6-10 volunteers on hand to help with this. Let us know if you can be there!

Unfortunately, because of high water temps, we will not be pen rearing our fish this year. At the time the decision was made by the committee, temperature at the pen site was over 61 degrees. Although the short term forcast showed us signs of a cool down, the long term forcasts are showing quite the opposite. The fish destined for pen rearing will now join the direct stocked fished. The steelhead will be stocked next thursday and the chinooks the week after.

That is too bad. Hard to believe it's that warm. I asked the DEC on Tues. when we got the fish at the Genny and was told it was 49 deg.

It was almost 70 degrees on saturday...

Probably for the better, today anyway. We were told truck water temps were 42 degrees, Olcott was 50 degrees--coming dangerously close to the 10 degree difference limit. In the early 90s protocul was set that if there was a 10 degree or more difference--especially WARMER, the fish were to be planted at the nearest workable site. A difference of 10 degrees or more can result in a total loss of the stocking.
