Was hoping to do a trip to Drowned island area. Wondering how the bite has been. Hopefully it is better than in most of eastern basin; very few boats and few fish out of catfish/little salmon over past week. What's going on? Are the stocking numbers way down in Mexico Bay Area?

I was out at Mexico point yesterday from about 9am till 1 pm marked a bunch of fish at the bottom in 120 FOW in front of the plant but didn't move a rod.. I would like to know about stony point also.. I would love to launch closer to the Fort Drum area... Driving an hour away to launch and not catching fish is no fun..

Temps are in the mid 50's active fish in the top 30'. Not a very good bite nor a ton of fish but there are some. Fish on the finger as well. But again not great action. Tough time right now.

Fished yesterday (Sunday), had 57 - 60 on surface, and high 40's down 40', to low 40's down 100'.  Spent most of the day in 120 - 140 fow.  Two big browns down 30' to 40', one on spoon and the other on a flasher and white fly.  Pretty slow, couldn't beat the weather though.

post-156407-0-04495400-1436358564_thumb.jpgI fished Stoney Point in my kayak last weekend and there was very little boat activity.  I trolled in 26' with deep divers and hit a couple walleyes and sheepshead  including this 27" walleye.  Did well around the island as well with the smallmouths.

MullenJ, see my post out of stony point in the Henderson Harbor thread.  Temps were 63-64 on surface, stayed about the same down 30' then started dropping.  50 degrees around 50' then dropped through the 40's slowly down from there.  Most of our action was on lake trout down just over 100', in 41-42 degree water.  Picture shows approximate location.

Fished over the weekend and did very well on browns on Friday went out 8 big browns in the boat. On Saturday those fish were all gone, so we went deep and ran a king and steelhead program. Screens were excellent working 160-176'. Had a great temp break down 42-47'. Caught a few steelhead and many small kings and a big bonus brown.
