Downrigger Insulators

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, trying to get my cannon mag 15s setup, and the manual suggests the use of a plastic insulator that electrically isolates the ball from the cable. Tried 4 places in roc to find them and cannot. What do you guys use, where did you find them?

Thanks

I use cannon terminators for my riggers (Big Jon) where you thread the cable through a series of turns inside a plastic clamp (Google it). If I'm not mistaken, these terminators are insulated from the cable.

Good luck,

We use a snubber between the cable and ball. It also:

(1) takes shock/stress off the gunwales, especially in bouncy seas.

(2) will break off if you have a snag, and save your expensive probe (which is mounted above the snubber) from being lost.

Like a dipsy snubber?

I have a few you can have,  I located just outside of Canandaigua.

I truly appreciate your generosity! I wish I was down that way more often but unfortunately that's like an hour or so for me.
