SLR Still Productive

Went out for the first time in a week because of the holiday and still found fish in the 32-35 ft range. 3 for 5 right on the bottom but did mark suspended fish too. Lots of bait on the graph. One 6 lb and a pair of 3's.

Tried running some heavier bouncers (16oz) but went back to my 9's just because I've gotten accustomed to the feel of them.

Same program about 1.2 speed over ground heading into about a 2 mph current. 32 FOW, olive glow thunderstick, surface water temp 62.

Nice I did well on long lining deep divers early this morning but did get a couple on bottom bouncers. Lots of eyes glowing every place I looked. Caught fish every where I tried.

Did put a post in Tackle and Techniques about using my bow mount electric to steer while using my kicker for propulsion. Pretty cool sort of autopilot set-up.

I've done the same with my bow mount, lock the kicker in place, put my electric in auto pilot, steer with that. I bolted a bigger rudder on it, then all you need is to steer it in direction you want , it holds that course, no propulsion needed. The rudder is 8 by 8 inch, one edge cut on a 45 degree angle.

I was up and dressed at 3:15 but when I stepped outside and there was a strong north wind decided to go back to bed. Likely a good choice.

Just got off the river with a 2 man limit jigging with 2 shorts and 2 that got off in 2.5 hrs
