Women's shoe collections are stupid. You have to pay to play. You want to play golf once a week?......$50 x 4 rounds/month x 7 months= $1400 per year. Over 10 years that's $14,000. You go to the bar every Friday night and drop $50 all year = $2400 per year= $24,000 over 10 years. Adult soccer league $400 per session x 3 sessions per year= $1200 per year......you get my drift. Any time my wife gives me grief I explain I don't go out to bars anymore, I don't go to the casino, after back surgery I don't ski or play contact sports anymore. Fishing is a stress reliever that keeps me from being an ahole to those around me. In the end if I had to, I could sell my gear and get money in return......try to do that with used shoes!!!

My apologies to the original thread author.......we have gone off-course Captain!

How true that is!! My wife has 105 pairs of shoes, and a gazillion of those Longenberger baskets which she says are worth $120-to plus more. I told her first you need to find a sucker that was born 30 seconds after you to agree to pay you that much for a over priced picnic basket, until then they ain't worth a cup full of cold piss. Get my drift!! LOL

And this thread takes another detour! Hahahahahahaha

I think you started this "diversion" to give Silver Fox another one of those headaches again  .

I screwed up and married a low maintenance woman who doesn't go out and get her hair and nails done, doesn't like jewelry and expensive clothing, and she actually likes fishing. She doesn't spend any money on herself and she's quick to remind me that I have too many toys already. She's such a cheapskate, she will remind me that I will never get my "return" on a Smart Troll or X4D because I fish for a hobby, and I might hit Lake O for salmon 10 to 15 times per year. The rest of my fishing is on smaller lakes for bass and trout in my 16ft utility boat.

Her defense will be that fishing is not my bread and butter, and that I need to stop spending so much of my bread and butter on fishing. Crap, now I have a headache...

Does this SS coated copper wire have the same diameter as coated cable or standard 150# uncoated cable? I've read that the coated wire can cause inaccurate readings with certain line counters in riggers.

I believe it is a little bigger but not as big as the plastic coated.

That's where she's wrong!  A speed probe does produce returns!

Let me explain. Your boat costs $$$ to dock, slip, launch, maintain, winterize, store, etc.  I have a permanent slip in the summer and indoor store in the winter. All in I'm probably $7000 a year.  If I go out 20 times, each outing is costing me $350. If you only catch say 3 to 4 fish, each fish cost me around $100.  If a speed probe helps you catch more fish, say double up, you've reduced your cost per fish by $50.

So tell you're wife it will save you $50 per fish, and if you just catch 20 more fish, the system pays for itself.  See if that works ... lol.

Oh, and before the risk, if she figures each fish costs $50 or $100, she will really know you are nuts (just like the rest of us).

I agree 100%, and I weigh the cost of each fish caught by how much my operating costs are. More fish caught per trip = less cost per pound.

That's the same reason why I love catching bass in my 16ft utility boat while fishing within sight of someone who fishes from a $40,000 bass rig. I call it fishing on a rock bottom budget, and that's why I named my utility boat "Rock Bottom".

I've already laid my head in the guillotine. If I have to worry about how much each fish costs me, then please drop that blade on my neck!

You don't have to worry about the cost per fish, you're a successful charter captain 8)

I have just purchased the Hawk X4 system and the directions say to keep the transducer away from other transducers. Does anyone know how far it has to be away? I'm running out of room back there, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for your suggestions

Fish Hawk works great, no interference between transducers
