Seems like a bunch of us are thinking same thing....was wondering if north end of the bay is open...thinking about launching at coast guard station tomorrow. Anybody know?

Last I knew the coast guard station launch was not open due to repairs.

Yeah, they had just finished new dock when we launched there in December. Unless they were doing something since then.

Just checked for you guys. Launch is clean and OPEN!. Nice plastic "wood" dock still in the water so you don't need to tie to the winch stand if you're solo. Bay is skim iced from Newark island south though. Good luck.

Was at coast guard station this afternoon. Channel had packed ice chunks blocking it.

I guess we got lucky. Launched at about 8 am today. Heard the channel was iced in sometime while we fished. Cleaed out by 2 pm when we came in. Caught some browns and one rainbow

I wanted to try and get through it there were some real big pieces moving around in the waves and all i could picture was my aluminum hull getting peeled back like a soda can
