Question about prop on Mercury Optimax

I currently run a 115 hp Mercury Optimax on my boat and I noticed Thursday while checking thing out that the prop has about 1/8 to 1/4 inch of play in and out. I pulled the prop off and checked everything out and reassemble it and it still slide in and out the same amount.

Is this normal?? If not how do I fix it??

They are supposed to have a little movement 1/4" seems a little much but 1/8" doesn't seem out of the ordinary.

On second thought is the whole shaft moving or the prop on the shaft? If it is the prop and not the shaft just tighten the prop nut and you'll be good to go.

Just the prop on the shaft and I still have the same play when I really bear down on the nut?.

There is a hard rubber bushing in there too  I wonder if it is split or broken?
