Your thoughts on downrigger weights that glow?

Recommended Posts

I recently picked up a gallon of Plasti-Dip that is phospher....phosphorece....fosforisen.....glows in the dark instead of the black I usually use.  I dipped one of the balls I pour in it.  It mostly retains the color of the native product (in this case lead), maybe darkened it a little and has a faint green tone to it.  It does glow in the dark if I give it enough light, but not like a flashlight or anything.  I haven't used it yet, but probably will this weekend.

Has anyone ever heard of doing this, and do you think it will act as an attractant or a deterrent to fish?  I'm concerned it may be overkill.  Thanks

I tried something similar and saw too many fish come up and take a look and then fall away. I don't want fish to key on my balls at all so now I use a green color that matches water color.
