Life of stanless wire

Recommended Posts

I spend one or two weekends in early Aug fishing out of Olcott we run two wire divers two riggers and a 300 copper 99% of our fish have come off of the wire divers vs riggers. My riggers manual and are a pain in the ass to use. I am thinking about investing in two more wire divers vs. spending money on used electric riggers. How long can I expect the stanless wire to last? The wire I have is about eight years old and seems good as new.

You can pry my riggers from my dead crusty hand!  Just because you aren't catching them on the riggers, you are helping to line up the fish behind your boat for the junk lines to get them bringing up the rear.

ok thanks for the advise I am going to spool one of my rigger reels with wire and still run one rigger. The rest of the reels I have at my disposal are smaller walleye line counter reels that may hold around 200 yards of 20 lp mono don't want to test them on a big king.
